Civil Engineering

GRCL services encompass general civil and mechanical engineering activities including ground and structural investigations, design & build projects, including any alteration or refurbishment of buildings, sub-stations/signal boxes, control rooms, relay rooms, station platform refurbishment and extensions including any associated mechanical build and fit out.

All works are covered and regulated by stringent internal procedures to include regular quality and safety audits by our senior management team.

Dalston Station – Awarded Sub-Contract on behalf of Mansell’s to complete the platform finishing and block/brick works required for the new station at Dalston on the East London Line. Works included the provision and installation of all materials required to complete the platform finishing works on 4No. low level platforms together with the block/brick works required to construct new staff accommodation and service areas at both levels of the East and West elevations on the new ELL station.

Lincoln Area Re-Signalling Project - Sub-Contractor to Invensys Rail Limited to provide the design and build for the civils scope of works for the scheme. Works included the provision and installation of 33km of cable route and installation of 350,000m of cable, location and signal bases, both insitu concrete and piled equipment bases, REB & SSP bases and compound, driver walkways, delivery and installation of all 4ft equipment including Signals, REB’s, Location Cases and installation of 3 Cantilevers and 2 Gantries, Level Crossing Replacement, Project Commissioning and Recoveries including the demolition and 2 Signal Boxes.

Sub Surface Lines – Power Supply Upgrade Project Phase 1b (Metropolitan Line) - Sub-Contractor to Balfour Beatty Engineering Services Limited to complete the design and build works associated with 11No. Sub-Stations on the Metropolitan Line Phase 1b project. Works include the design, provision and installation of floor strengthening works, concrete foundation and equipment installation, cable containment and cable installation works including associated demolition works as required.

Coventry Area Resignalling Project – Sub-Contractor to Invensys Rail Limited for the Signalling Installation and significant packages of Minor Civil works for the scheme. Installation of cable route GRC/GRP and cable ducting, delivery and install of all four foot equipment including FTN and Tyrone Location Cabs, REB’s, fit out and installation of Control Centre, installation of all 4ft equipment, and testing prior to handover for Commissioning.
