Career Profiles

Marco Lombardelli (Managing Director, Global Rail Construction) is a full member of the Institute of Railway Signalling Engineers and recently completed an MA in Business Management. He worked for GEC Alstom for 14 years, where he was closely involved with application engineering, design, project engineering and test and commissioning - in the latter case as Test and Commissioning Engineer for the Docklands Light Railway, London Tilbury and Southend and Great Eastern Projects. On secondment to the Hong Kong division, he completed the test and commissioning of phases one and two of the KCRC project.

Marco was one of the first UK-based engineers to be accredited the IRSE licences for both design and testing disciplines. He joined Finchpalm Ltd in July 1997 to implement and develop the signalling division of the organisation, rising to Operations Director in January 2001. He was solely responsible for incorporating signalling installation and signal maintenance testing, together with building the level of skilled resources required to implement the works.

Ivan Holloway (Commercial Director, Global Rail Construction)
Ivan Holloway has been involved in the Railway Industry for some 15 years. He has been involved on a number of multi- disciplined projects on behalf of London Underground, Railtrack, Northern Ireland Railways and currently Irish Rail. These projects included the successful delivery of Signalling, Civil Engineering, Cable Network Installation and Construction Works. More recently, he has been involved within the management of a number of Signalling installation projects with notable success. He had direct responsibility for the following Divisions during his career within the industry – Health and Safety, Major Projects and more recently Director of major projects – Ireland, on behalf of Nuttall-Finchpalm Limited.

He has also been involved in high profile projects such as the Central and Jubilee Line Re – Signalling for London Underground, Extended arm contracts on behalf of Bovis, Lovell Construction, Belfast Re – Signalling Phases 1 & 2 on behalf of Mowlem & NIR, P – Way track renewal & reconditioning on behalf of London Underground & AMEC Rail. He currently holds an IRSE License in the discipline of Signalling Installation Manager, with other qualifications and experience in the disciplines of Civil Engineering, Construction and Health & Safety. He is currently the Managing Director of Global Rail Services in Ireland and Commercial Director of Global Rail Construction in the UK.
